Tradition...Tradition!

Many moons ago, I met my dear friend Allison. We basically were inseparable for an entire summer before she decided to go to Australia. During that time, we experience our first 4th of July together and that was the start of many Happy America's to follow.

This year was my third year going to Nashville (where Allison lives now) in order to celebrate our nations birth in a correct way. I'd have to say, this is one of my favorite times of the year. Allison always plans amazing outings to coincide with the holiday weekend. This year was by far the best Happy America I've ever had!

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Here we are at the Patterson House which is a fancy cocktail lounge.
They have a bacon infused drink. NASTY!

This is Allison's sweet boyfriend Bill

Bill, Allison, Patrick and I at the Stage listening to some sweet music
It was really important that I wore some 3-D glasses for the big firework show. Thanks Patrick...they worked!

Allison and Emily at Patrick's party! The sweet view of down town Nashville Patrick has from his deck!

Allison, Bill and Patrick all work for the Core of Engineers and so I thought I'd sport this hard hat. Just in case there was some out of control driving going on.

Allison and I at the Stage (again) on Sunday night. Let me just add that I said numerous times "It's Sunday and I'm at a bar drinking!!" I felt like such a rebel. It was a great night, I think I went to bed around 4 am and I remember tipping the cab driver $6 for a $6 ride! Oh well, $12 isn't that bad. On Monday, Allison had rented a pontoon boat and invited her friends to join in for a day at the lake. After 4 hours of sleep, I woke up feeling like I got run over by a thousand horses who also pooped on me. That's adding in the nausea that I was experiencing. Don't worry, I toughened up quick, thanks to some delicious crackers I found.

The day at the lake was so much fun. I have a small fear of water so it took me a while to get in, then when I did, I realized that Nelly the Loch Ness Monster didn't live there and I was safe. We played and invented a few games then eventually decided to move out into deeper water so everyone could jump off the boat.

I had a great time getting to know new people and hanging out with those who I had met in previous years. All-in-all it was a great weekend and I finally got to experience some amazing weather and great alcohol!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! Can't wait until next year!
